Mini Oil Lamps . com is an exhibition and catalogue of a private vintage miniature kerosene or oil lamp collection. It comprises of lamps mostly from Japan and Hong Kong manufactured in the 1950s, 1960s,1970s and 1980s.
This website was started in December 2022 and will be an ongoing project for a long time. The collection has an estimated 1500+ lamps, perhaps 1100-1200 unique lamps to be catalogued. While initially the database will contain only the lamps in this private collection, it is possible that it may be expanded to contain lamps which are not in the collection and thus create a global database of all lamps of that era ever manufactured. If and when that time arises, a submission form or page will be set up to allow image uploads.
Of course, the collector is still acquiring new oil lamps whenever the opportunity arises. Visitors are most welcome to make contact if they have a lamp they would like to sell. Donations of lamps are very gratefully accepted, and rest assured that your lamp/s will go to an avid life-long collector and not a bric-a-brac dealer for a quick profit, and be added to what may possibly be the world's largest known collection of such lamps. Even doubles of lamps are sometimes desired as one part may have a crack or other fault and need replacing, or I may trade with other collectors for lamps that I don't have. The aim is to have a complete collection of every lamp ever made and in perfect condition.
